The dove-eyed, legendary comedian of renaissance comedy has left behind a legacy that he worked so hard to establish over seven long decades.

Carl Reiner left the world aged 98 after successful stints as an actor, screenplay writer, director, stand-up comedian, author, and producer. The comedy tycoon has repeatedly won our hearts since he rose to fame with the super-hit variety show, Second Banana!

In memory of the beloved actor, we have listed some of his most famous and memorable works, plus where you can watch/stream them online.

1950-1954: ‘Your Show of Shows.’

The breakthrough script for Carl Reiner

The ever-iconic comic duo, Sid Caesar and Imogen Coco, rocked it in this 90-minute-long variety program that became an instant hit. Although it was not well received at first, this was the breakthrough script for Carl, both as an actor and a writer. He also had his long-time pal, Mel Brooks, and playwright, Neil Simon, to keep him company throughout the writing and filming process.

1975: 2000 ‘Year Old Man’

The hit acts of Carl Reiner and Mel Brooks

As the most notable comic actors in 20th-century, Carl and Mel got a hit with the act. The latter played a squawky character while the former took up the role of a skillful interviewer, and the comedy was endless! The last album called ‘The 2000-Year-Old Man in the Year 2000’ even triumphed in the Grammys.

1961-1966: ‘The Dick Van Dyke Show.’

The award-winning sitcom of Carl

Carl co-wrote this award-winning sitcom, which changed the motion picture game altogether. He even made appearances on the fictional show playing the role of Alan Brady, the arrogant and vain man in an episode called Mad About You, and got an Emmy for it!

1977: ‘Oh, God!’

The star achieved extreme commercial and critical success with the fourth film he directed, called ‘Oh, God,’ which was an instant hit. It features a country mogul named John Denver who is selected by god. In the world of ‘Avengers,’ ‘Star Wars,’ and whatnot, this 20th-century hit will keep you wanting for more.

1979: ‘The Jerk.’

He produced and directed this button-pressing hilarious film—a 95-minute show that speaks of an adopted son’s adventures.

Although the film did attract controversy, it was a surprise box-office hit that catapulted Carl and his co-actor, Steve Martin, to H-Town stardom! The pair also worked on several other movies, including Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid, the ever-favorite, All of Me, and The Man with Two Brains.

Let us binge watch some of the comedic victor’s super hit movies. This one is for you, Carl Reiner!
