Most athletes might prefer to retire after a bad injury, but the real legends continue to fight through the pain and do what they love. One of these superstars happens to be Kevin Durant.
KD is no ordinary athlete – he is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Brooklyn Nets in the National Basketball Association. Today, Durant leads the race as the best player in the NBA, a title he has won before as well. So, who is Kevin Durant, and why has he got the entire basketball community in a loop?

A Rising Star
Born in Washington DC, Kevin Durant was already reaching heights by standing at 6ft at the young age of 14. He played Amateur Athletic Union for a few years in Maryland, then continued to play the sport throughout his high school tenure, and followed his love for the sport even at the University of Texas in Austin.
During this time, he won the title of Washington Post All-Met Basketball Player of the Year, but this was just the beginning of his rising career. From 2007 to 2019, Durant climbed the ladder of basketball success as he played with teams such as Seattle SuperSonics, Oklahoma City Thunder, and many more. But, no one could prepare him for what came next: an unexpected injury.
Every Sportman’s Worst Nightmare
On June 10th of 2019, the Brooklyn Nets player tore his right Achilles tendon during Game 5 against Toronto Raptors in the NBA finals. He only played for 12 minutes before the painful injury took place, which left him limping to the side benches. Durant was left with no choice but to drop out of the NBA season of 2019 -2020. Spectators and long-time basketball fans know that this injury is no joke. Many of them considered it to end Durant’s career. Some even speculated Durant opting for early retirement after the injury but, true to his passion, the athlete proved that he wasn’t going down that easy.

Making A Come-Back
The 32-year-old surprised his fans as he made his way back into competitive NBA action. His team managed to win game 2 against the Milwaukee Bucks thanks to Durant’s powerful performance that made everyone his fan in the first place.
Durant’s fans took to their social media accounts to praise the athlete for his amazing performance after 18-months of staying in recovery for the torn Achilles tendon. It is all because of Kevin Durant’s killer performance that the Brooklyn Nets were able to bag six wins in seven matches. Now that’s called a come-back.
